keyboard warrior

So this is a poem I wrote last night because I got verbally attacked by a League of Legends player (we all know how good that community is 🙂 )

your screen is your shield and your keyboard your sword

bravest knight of this rectangular table in this lonely room

hurling cries of war and anger at the invisible people

spitting deceit and lies with your cheeto-stained tongue

bold beyond your hardware and your razor apparel

no armour covers your hollow chest so devoid of colour

the casing you use to cover yourself isn’t lit up

and the sounds of the world around you are extinguished

your isolation is not compulsory but you thrive in it

for you are the warrior of a legend spoken of by none

in the darkest corners of this tangled and ever-growing web

nobody knows your name and nobody gets your handle

there is no status to express your absolute loneliness

you are alone in this expansive and wonderful world

you are alone in this perfidious game that you play

you are alone in this chair adorned with your avatar

you are alone in this world that you daren’t ever see
